Standard of content

Standard of content, design and submission of articles in the scientific journal "Defense and Science".

 Persons authorized to submit work for publication:

Professors (foreign and Georgian) of the Georgian National Self-Defense Academy named after David Agmashenebeli, as well as university and scientific research centers (foreign and Georgian), invited teachers, independent researchers, doctoral students;

Prerequisite for receiving the article:

In order to print an article in the journal, the interested person must register electronically https://forms.gle/Bi32gqLrhLMsbj3g7. The style of verification of the used source and the manner of presentation of the article should be provided in the article. The editorial board will review the work, which is designed in accordance with the "rules for execution, design and presentation of articles in a scientific journal". The article to be published should be sent to the specified address defenseandscience@eta.edu.ge,  in electronic form.

Requirements for writing a scientific paper:

When typing the article, use only Times New Roman font.

Method of presentation of the article: language of the article - English; sheet size A4; Field: all sides 2.5; number of pages - 8 -15;

Article text format:

The name of the article - in the center, bold, font size -14, must be written in English;

Name of the author/authors, surname - in the center, bold, font size-12, must be written in English; 

Author/authors: organization/ educational institution - in the center, font size 12, must be written in English;

Author(s): Affiliation/Position/Master's/Doctoral Student - Centered, font size 12, must be written in English;

Author/authors: scientific title and degree - in the center, font size 12, must be written in English;

Author/authors-ORCID identifier;

The procedure for performing the abstract:

Abstract - centered, bold, font size 12, must be written in English;

Abstract text - justified (justify/ Ctrl+J), font size 10; Distance between lines - 1, distance between paragraphs - 0 (Paragraph, After 0), all lines of the paragraph should be equally spaced from the right field. The first line of each paragraph should be indented (5 positions). The volume of the abstract text should be 200-300 words. must be performed in English;

Keywords - (at least 5 words/combination of words), must be written in English, font size 10; distance between lines - 1;

Article text - aligned (Justify/Ctrl+J), font size 12; distance between lines -1.15; Distance between paragraphs - 0 (Paragraph, After 0).  All lines of the paragraph should be equally spaced from the right margin. The first line of each paragraph should be indented (5 positions).

Used literature should be placed on a new page, centered, bold, font size - 12.

The structure of the article should include the following parts:

Introduction - the scope and importance of the topic, the relevance of the paper, familiarization with the issue, the analysis/overview of the studies conducted on the mentioned topic and the formation of one's own hypothesis. This chapter should discuss why the paper is valuable to the reader from a scientific point of view.

The main part includes research methodology and obtained results;

The final part includes conclusions, possible recommendations and business perspectives.

The list of used literature, the literature listed in the bibliography is not numbered and is not marked, the list should be arranged in alphabetical order by the last names of the authors (if there is none), according to the titles. Bibliographic data are not translated and the source is checked in the native language.

Footnote:

Footnotes are placed at the end of pages in the text of the article. It is possible to see both quoted and paraphrased sources in the text of the article (literature, normative material, judicial practice), which are numbered with numbers (font size-9), as well as author's notes (explanations), marked with a snowflake* and therefore not numbered.

Reference to the source should be made in the form of a footnote with Arabic numerals. (We use Arabic numerals to mark quotations, to add a reference at the end of a sentence, after the punctuation mark, we go to the References menu and press Insert Footnote).

A footnote in the text must be preceded by a closing punctuation mark (period, comma, exclamation mark, question mark). The use of a footnote before a punctuation mark is allowed for the purpose of explaining a single word or term;

Tables, diagrams:

In the paper, tables, diagrams and other visual material should be presented: in the center, in TIFF, PNG, JPEG-formats, the title should be placed below the line/diagram, etc., font size 8.

 

Keep in mind!!!

  1. All articles submitted for publication in the magazine will be checked by the plagiarism detection program "turnitin". The work is evaluated positively if: the coefficient of similarity does not exceed 10%;
  2. The article sent for printing in the journal will undergo a double-blind peer review by experts in the field. In the event of a difference between the experts' conclusions, the article will be sent to a third reviewer for evaluation. If the article receives two positive reviews, it will be returned to the editor-in-chief. The editor-in-chief will make a recommendation: rejection, minor or major corrections, or printing.
  3. The author/authors of the article will be responsible for the opinions expressed in the article.
